Meet Jecyl, a happy NCLEX Bootcamp customer who recently passed the NCLEX. I’ve asked Jecyl to share her NCLEX experience with us.
How did you use NCLEX Bootcamp to prepare for the NCLEX?
I used NCLEX Bootcamp from the very beginning of my actual review which was 3 months prior to my NCLEX exam date. I made sure to finish the entire question bank and understand all the rationales. I even went back to those that I got wrong as much as I can until I better grasp the concept. This eventually helped me gain more confidence as I saw little progress day by day. The introduction videos and Dr. Emily and the team's rationale videos were all very helpful considering how much it has helped me rebuild the foundation of my knowledge. Everything was clear, thorough, and well-organized.
What did you struggle with most while you were studying for the NCLEX?
I believe that I struggled most with critical thinking skills while studying for the NCLEX. With the help of Bootcamp's practice questions, I learned that most of the questions generally just require you to think about the patient's safety. Dr. Emily and the team has actually taught me how to tackle every question and pick the best answer every time by analyzing each option available. I also struggled in having enough confidence in myself and my answers as well as being anxious while taking the exams. I did overcome this as I answered more and more practice questions in Bootcamp.
What is one piece of advice you would give to another student preparing to take the NCLEX?
One thing I would advise to others preparing the NCLEX would be to wisely choose their resources for studying. Personally, I found all that I was looking for in Bootcamp. I needed a refresher in a lot of different topics without it being too wordy but at the same time one that helped me easily understand. Short lectures, like those of Dr. Emily's, were also great since my attention span is quite short. The Bootcamp team was also generally so supportive that I felt like I wasn't alone, despite having kept my exam date to most of my friends due to fear from them knowing I failed. At the end of the day, one's preference always matters. It doesn't really matter what most do, it matters what you're comfortable doing yourself.
