How did you use NCLEX Bootcamp to prepare for the NCLEX?
Roughly 6 months before graduation, I purchased a membership with Bootcamp. After considering all of my options, I felt the content that Bootcamp provided would best prepare me for NCLEX, and I loved the study guide that explained to me exactly how to study and which tests to practice with. Initially, I completed one practice test per day, but halfway through my last semester, I started focusing on taking at least two standalone tests plus two case studies daily. I also took notes using the rationales when I would get items incorrect. The rationales were top-tier, and I learned so much just by taking exams and reading the explanations. The information was thorough and easy to understand, so it was more than just telling me the correct answer. Bootcamp provided detailed information about topics I was weak on, but it wasn't overwhelming. When I finally took the NCLEX, I felt confident and prepared. There were several moments while taking the exam when I recognized content and was able to answer without hesitation because of something I'd learned while studying with Bootcamp. I will be forever grateful to the makers of Bootcamp for helping me prepare for this life-changing exam. Thank you for creating such a wonderful system for nursing students! Bootcamp rocks!
What did you struggle with most while you were studying for the NCLEX?
On top of being a full-time nursing student, I'm a wife and mom of four, and I worked part-time as a PCT at my local hospital. I spent a lot of time away from my family studying for hours on end. Bootcamp allowed me to curate tests and case studies in the areas I was weakest, and I had a clear picture of what needed to be reviewed each day. I was able to streamline my study habits, allowing me more time to spend with my family. Not only did I feel more than prepared when the time came for me to take NCLEX, but I felt rested and mentally focused rather than burnt out and exhausted.
What is one piece of advice you would give to another student preparing to take the NCLEX?
Well, first of all, use Bootcamp! Take your time, breathe, and take notes when you get items incorrect. You're actively learning, not just memorizing answers. Bootcamp was like an extension of the classroom for me, and I used it as such. I think that's why I enjoyed it so much; it taught me content rather than just drilling me on what I already knew. You didn't get this far on accident, though, you're smart, you're ready! You can do it, just keep practicing.
