The latest innovative thermostat from Nest Labs. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Nest Labs is out with its second generation thermostat …that uses sensors and an Internet connection to save money on heating and cooling. The color LCD display is eye catching and Product marketing head Maxime Veron says what’s new in version two...
“We have made it 20 percent thinner and we now have an all around premium stainless steel ring. Iit really enhances what we call a chameleon effect, which is Nest’s ability to reflect the color and texture of your wall. And we’ve improved the compatibility two ways by adding two more connectors in what is called the back plate and by improving the software as well and introducing brand new features like system match, for instance.”
Owners of the original Nest are also getting the improved software. The price, about 250 dollars. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
